Founder and Principal Shamir Mangalji brings more than 15 years of operating, executive, governance, and advisory experience across private enterprise, co-operative business, Indigenous economic development, and financial services.
That experience shapes how Klutch works today — combining structured analysis and commercial judgement with a practical understanding of what organizations can actually execute or what resources are needed.
Shamir spent much of his career within the Co-operative Retailing System, progressing through operating and senior leadership roles.
His responsibilities included multi-site retail operations, large teams, financial and operational performance, and departmental budgets exceeding $80 million — balancing commercial results with people, member value, organizational culture, and long-term growth.
He later served as CEO of a First Nations economic development corporation, supporting economic development, business oversight, leadership coaching, land and commercial development opportunities, partnerships, and major business decisions.
His governance experience includes serving as Vice Chair and Governance Committee Chair of a credit union board, contributing to discussions involving strategy, risk, audit, lending, investment, governance, and long-term organizational sustainability.
Those experiences shaped Klutch’s approach to advisory work: understand the business, clarify the options, and stay focused on what happens after the decision is made.
